This ring is more complete than the eastern ring. It is approximately 65ft in diameter and is made up of 17 small stones with a
larger fallen stone 16 ft to the east which was originally orientated north-south. Due east of this ring is a stone cairn near the bank of nant tarw stream.

The eastern ring is aproximately 70 ft in
diameter and consists of 15 small stones.

This stone row is located west of the western ring
and I have named it Maen Cysgod or 'Shadow Stone'. It is made up of a large fallen
stone originally orientated east-west with two smaller stones to the west again
orientated east-west. This structure of a large stone with two small stones can
be seen about two miles away at Maen Mawr. I have already shown that the purpose
of these small stones is to mark the position of the shadow cast by the large stone
at a certain time of year. The smaller stones west of Maen Cysgod marked the position
of the shadow cast by the equinox sunrise as it rose above the hill due east. 18 ft
north-east and south-west of Maen Cysgod are two pit like depressions. These are
orientated 32 degrees East of magnetic north. The purpose of these depressions is
a mystery.
